Blue Spruce Health is a Vermont Direct Primary Care practice, and we’re adding a physician in Williston.
In DPC, patients pay a membership instead of routing everything through insurance. That removes most of what makes primary care exhausting — no coding, no prior authorizations, no documenting for a billing department. What’s left is the medicine. Panels are a fraction of the usual size and visits end when the conversation does.
We’re open to full-time or part-time. Full-time includes leading and mentoring our NPs and PAs as the Williston team grows. Part-time starts at 0.5 FTE, with a schedule built around your constraints rather than ours — we’d rather have an excellent physician two or three days a week than compromise to fill five.
Compensation: $235,000–$270,
Living here: Williston is ten minutes from Burlington — Lake Champlain, strong schools, a regional airport with direct flights, and Stowe and Sugarbush under an hour. Short commutes are normal.
Who we’re looking for: BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, licensed or eligible in Vermont. Someone who wants to help shape a growing practice rather than inherit a finished one.

Nurse Practitioner
Direct Primary Care | Newport, Vermont

Blue Spruce Health is a Vermont Direct Primary Care practice. We’re hiring an NP based in Newport who also wants a hand in something new.
In DPC, patients pay a membership instead of routing everything through insurance. No coding, no prior authorizations, no documenting for a billing department. Panels are a fraction of the usual size and visits end when the conversation does. Vermont is a full practice authority state, and we mean it — you’ll practice at the top of your license with physician collaboration when you want it, not permission-seeking when you don’t.
The part that isn’t a normal NP job: we’re building telehealth-enabled clinics inside Vermont employers — retailers, a manufacturer, more to come. Some of your week would be on site at those locations doing occupational health and primary care, some in Newport, some connecting to patients across all our sites by video. If the same four walls every day has never appealed to you, this is a different shape of work.
Occupational health experience is welcome but not required — we’ll train and certify you.
Compensation: $114-$138K/year base at full time, prorated for part-time, plus panel growth bonus and a stipend for employer-site coverage. Benefits, malpractice, CME, and licensure covered.
Living here: Newport sits on Lake Memphremagog in the Northeast Kingdom. Jay Peak is twenty minutes away, Kingdom Trails under an hour, and housing costs a fraction of Chittenden County. It’s rural and it’s real — that’s the appeal or it isn’t.
Who we’re looking for: FNP or AGNP, licensed or eligible in Vermont. Comfortable with autonomy and with a role that’s still taking shape.
